Reduced Fee Options
We completely understand that financial circumstances can sometimes make accessing therapy difficult. While we do not offer Bulk-billing, we are committed to providing accessible pathways to care:
- Case-by-Case Reduced Rates: Under special, assessed circumstances, our psychologists may see clients at a reduced rate of $150.00 per session.
- Please note that our Principal Psychologist does not offer reduced fees.
- Provisional Psychologists: We may also have warm, highly capable Provisional Psychologists available at reduced rates. They are fully registered with AHPRA and are completing their postgraduate training or internships.
- Please note that Medicare rebates cannot be claimed for sessions with a Provisional Psychologist.
Psychological Assessment Options
- Psychological Assessment: fees vary depending on the psychologist and tools used*. This will be confirmed in your initial session. Below are some basic estimates for common assessments:
- Cognitive Assessment (WISC-V or WAIS-IV) $2016.00 (inc GST) for general/senior psychologist
- Learning Assessment (WIAT-III and either WISC-V or WAIS-IV) starting from $3024.00 (inc GST) for general/senior psychologist
*Please note that Medicare rebates are not available for assessments. You may be able to claim a rebate on your initial session. We recommend that you speak with your referring doctor about any potential rebates.
Available Rebates and Fee Assistance
Mental Health Care Plans (Medicare Rebates)
Under the government’s ‘Better Access to Mental Health Care’ (MHCP) initiative, limited Medicare rebates are available for treatment by registered psychologists. Individuals can get rebates for up to ten counselling sessions per calendar year.
- Registered Psychologist Rebate: $101.55 per session
- Accredited Social Worker Rebate: $89.50 per session
To claim these rebates, please book a dedicated appointment with your GP (or a psychiatrist or paediatrician) to obtain a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) and a formal referral letter.
MyMedicare Compliance Update: Following changes introduced on 1 November 2025, your referral and MHTP must be prepared by your usual GP or your MyMedicare-registered clinic to be valid for rebates.

Private Health Insurance & Third-Party Providers
- Private Health: We register our practitioners with all major Australian health funds. We will provide a comprehensive receipt for you to claim your rebate directly.
- NDIS, Work Cover, Victims Assist, and DVA: We are proud to provide services across these frameworks. Please note that standard fees may vary depending on third-party guidelines.
Frequently asked questions
When do I pay for my therapy session?
For Self-Managed NDIS clients, or privately funded/Medicare clients: To make your therapeutic experience as smooth and stress-free as possible, we hold a credit card securely on our encrypted server when booking your initial consult. At the end of your session, our reception team processes both your payment and your Medicare rebate automatically, so you can focus entirely on your healing without worrying about admin tasks before you leave.
For Plan Managed NDIS clients: You will need to provide us with your plan manager’s details so that we can send the invoice to them.
How do I get my rebate?
Most of the time we can process Medicare rebates straightaway. To do this, you will need to provide us with your referral to your psychologist along with your Medicare card/number and a credit/debit card. What is your cancellation policy?
We know that navigating trauma, neurodivergence, or life changes can sometimes make appointments difficult to keep. If you need to cancel or reschedule, we kindly request at least 24 hours’ notice.
This gives us time to offer the open space to another client who may be waiting for care. Late cancellations or missed sessions without notice may incur a fee.
Where can I access face-to-face services?
We support our communities across two distinct regional bases:
- Toowong, Brisbane Clinic: In-person sessions with our multidisciplinary team are held at our peaceful clinic on Sherwood Road, Toowong.
- Nubeena, Tasman Peninsula Outreach: Our Principal Psychologist, Mary Krishnan-McKenzie, offers dedicated in-person consultations on-site in Nubeena, Tasmania.
- Online Telehealth: High-quality video and phone sessions are available Australia-wide for flexible, accessible support.
Can I choose my clinician?
Absolutely. You’re welcome to request a specific practitioner based on their experience, specialty, or your personal preference.
How do you decide how much to charge per session?
We have set our fee structure to balance our costs and not making the cost of therapy prohibitive. This means our fees are well below those recommended by the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi). The AAPi recommended fee for a 45-60 min session is $340.00.
